Uganda for travellers from the United Arab Emirates

🇦🇪من الإمارات والخليج

Uganda, written for the Gulf traveller who arrives with quiet expectation.

From Dubai or Abu Dhabi, Uganda is a direct evening flight and a wholly different rhythm. We design private journeys for travellers from the UAE and the wider Gulf who want discretion, comfort, and an unhurried encounter with East Africa — usually ten to fourteen nights, written in private.

The Practical Brief

The journey, in plain terms

Everything a Emirati & Gulf traveller needs to know before the first conversation. We hold the rest — the lodges, the permits, the guides, and the long, quiet arc of the journey itself.

01

Flights

Direct service from DXB to Entebbe with Emirates; one-stop from AUH, DOH, RUH, and JED via Doha (Qatar), Dubai (Emirates), and Addis Ababa (Ethiopian). Total flying time from six hours nonstop.

02

Visas

UAE passport holders may receive a Uganda visa on arrival or apply online (US$50). The East African Tourist Visa (US$100) covers Uganda, Rwanda, and Kenya.

03

Best season for Gulf travellers

June through September and December through February are the drier seasons — ideal for gorillas, plains, and the Nile. Cooler than the Gulf summer, always.

04

How long to come

Ten to fourteen nights is the considered arc. Many Gulf travellers compose a fortnight with a quiet ending on Zanzibar.

05

Currency

The Uganda Shilling. US dollars (crisp, 2013 or later) are widely accepted. Dirhams can be exchanged in Kampala; cards work in cities and at most lodges.

06

Safety

Uganda is calm and welcoming. We move with private vehicles, vetted guides, and provide twenty-four-hour ground support throughout. We hold full discretion on every booking.

The Honest Questions

What Emirati & Gulf travellers actually ask

01

Is halal catering available?

+

Yes. All lodges we work with can prepare halal menus on request; we confirm in writing for every booking.

02

How private is the journey?

+

Entirely. Every vehicle, guide, and lodge is held in your name. We hold full discretion on guest manifests.

03

Can families travel together?

+

Yes. We compose around shorter drives, family lodges, and quieter pacing for multigenerational arcs.

Beyond the Bush

Kampala after dark, and the festivals in between.

Uganda is not only her parks. Kampala hums after dusk — rooftop bars over Nakasero, live afrobeat at Cayenne and The Lawns, jazz suppers at Mediterraneo, and long Sunday brunches that drift into evening. We open private tables, host introductions, and weave a city night or two into your arc when it suits.

Nights out

Rooftops, live music, late suppers

From The Pearl Lounge and Cayenne to a candlelit dinner at Latitude or the long verandah at Emin Pasha — we hold the reservations and the driver.

Festivals & calendar

Nyege Nyege, Bayimba, Blankets & Wine

Nyege Nyege on the Nile in September, Bayimba in May, Blankets & Wine across the year, and the Kampala Art Biennale every other autumn. We time arcs around them on request.

Culture, quietly

Royal audiences, ateliers, private kitchens

An afternoon with a Kasubi historian, a tasting in a chef's home in Muyenga, an introduction to a Buganda court musician — the city, opened gently.
