Privacy Notice

IMAGINE Journey Design is a private studio of travel designers, registered in Kampala, Uganda. When this notice says "we", it means IMAGINE Journey Design Ltd. When it says "you", it means anyone who shares their information with us — through the website, by email, on WhatsApp, or in conversation.
The only information we ask for is what is needed to design a journey: your name, the way to reach you, the dates and shape of the trip you have in mind, the names and ages of those travelling with you, and — when an itinerary is held — the passport and dietary details required for permits and lodges. We do not collect financial information through the website; payments are arranged separately through our travel partners.
Your information is used to compose your itinerary, hold lodges and permits on your behalf, and — only with your consent — to send you The Field Notes, our quarterly letter. We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not share it with third parties beyond the lodges, guides, and aviation operators directly involved in your journey.
Enquiries and itineraries are held on secured servers operated by our infrastructure partners. The studio's email is hosted by Google Workspace. Newsletter subscriptions are managed through a single, GDPR-compliant provider. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Active itineraries and the correspondence around them are held for seven years from the date of travel — the period required by Ugandan tax and tourism authorities. After that, files are deleted unless you have asked us to keep them on hand for a future journey.
You may, at any time, ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Newsletter subscribers may unsubscribe from any letter using the link at the bottom of every issue. Write to journeys@imagine.travel and we will respond within seven days.
The website uses a small number of cookies to remember language preference and to understand, in aggregate, which pages are read most often. We do not use advertising cookies. Full detail is on the cookies page.
Write to journeys@imagine.travel. A real person — usually one of the founders — will write back.
