Signature Journeys

A small selection of recent journeys. Each is a starting point, every itinerary is rewritten in private for the traveller it is for.

Six minutes · The Journey Matchmaker

Not sure which arc is for you?

Answer six unhurried questions about who is travelling, when, and what you are quietly hoping for. The studio will send back the two arcs most likely to suit you — written by hand, not generated.

Begin the Matchmaker

No proposal sent. No follow-up unless you ask.

Studio capacity

We accept 48 private journeys per year.

Our 2026 calendar is presently 71% composed. June, August and December are closed; September and February remain open by enquiry.

Private Expeditions

Where the map ends, the design begins.

Private expeditions are our most considered work, composed over months, not weeks. They are reserved for travellers seeking a route nobody else can offer them, in the company of the small circle of guides, pilots, historians, and conservation partners we have built over more than a decade in the field.

We accept a limited number of private expeditions each year. Each is preceded by a private design conversation, an in-house feasibility study, and a written proposal sent to you with the same care with which it was composed.

The Karamoja Crossing

12 days · 4 guests

The Karamoja Crossing

An anthropologist-led overland expedition into northeastern Uganda, Kidepo, Mount Morungole, and three Karimojong manyattas opened to us through fifteen years of relationship.

Source-to-Sea Nile

21 days · by invitation

Source-to-Sea Nile

A logistical opera composed with riverine guides, conservation pilots, and three private camps. The river from its first quiet breath at Jinja to the falls at Murchison.

The Mountain Residency

9 days · 6 guests

The Mountain Residency

Rwenzori foothills. Sound healing, somatic practice, and high-altitude silence with a wellness practitioner in private residence.

Royal Audience: Busoga

5 days · by introduction

Royal Audience: Busoga

A private audience with cultural custodians of the Busoga kingdom, composed for a small group of returning daughters and sons.

Begin a Complimentary Design Session

A single, unhurried conversation. No proposal until you ask.

In their own words

Three travellers, three reasons they wrote.

Not pull-quotes. Full, unedited reflections from travellers who chose to share — months after their journey ended.

New York · Journey of the Pearl · 16 days

We had three operators on speed dial in Africa. None of them asked why we wanted to come. IMAGINE spent forty minutes asking us about our marriage before they ever mentioned a lodge. The proposal that arrived a week later read like a letter, not a brochure. We still keep it.

Anya & Marcus Holloway

Invested: $48,400 for two

Lisbon · The Soul Collection · 12 days

I travel for work eleven months of the year. I had not had a single morning of true silence in three years. The studio composed an arc that opened with two days of nothing — a hilltop room, no schedule, a single attendant who knew not to speak. By day four I was crying for reasons I could not name.

Dr. Sofia Mendes

Invested: $19,200 solo

London & Lagos · The Long Return · 14 days

Six weeks before we travelled, a researcher in Kampala had already traced our clan back four generations. When we arrived at the ancestral village, a welcoming party of seventy people was waiting — none of whom we had ever met, all of whom knew our names. There is no price you can put on that morning.

James & Adaeze Okafor-Nwosu

Invested: $38,800 for the family

The investment

What sits behind the price.

Our journeys begin at $7,000 per traveller and reach $25,000 for our flagship arcs. The investment reflects composition, access and time — not a list of inclusions.

For travellers for whom this is not the right fit, we are happy to recommend trusted operators with our blessing.

  1. 01

    A private studio team

A named designer, a field concierge on WhatsApp throughout, and a lead guide who joins you from arrival to departure.

  2. 02

    Doors no operator can open

Royal audiences, ancestral homestays, conservation pilots, and partners built over fifteen years of relationship — never transactional.

  3. 03

    Composed, not packaged

Every itinerary is rewritten in private. No two travellers receive the same proposal, the same lodges in the same order, or the same rhythm.

  4. 04

    A 2% conservation tithe

Held by the studio and returned to the communities, custodians and forests our journeys move through. Itemised on every invoice.

A note from the studio

“Every journey we compose begins with a single, unhurried conversation. No proposal is ever sent before we have heard you. No itinerary is ever priced before we understand why you are coming.”

Nakato A. · Lead Designer & Founder, IMAGINE
