Uganda gorilla permits.

Permits are held at the published UWA rate. We do not mark up permits; the studio fee covers design, logistics, and the lodges we trust around them.

The Sectors

Four sectors of Bwindi, one of Mgahinga.

Which sector you trek shapes the lodge, the drive, and often the family. We choose for you based on fitness, photographic ambition, and which families are habituated for the month you travel.

Buhoma

The original sector. Moderate trails, the deepest concentration of habituated families, and the lodges with the longest pedigree (Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp, Mahogany Springs).

Ruhija

Higher elevation, cooler mornings, fewer travellers. Bitukura and Oruzogo families. Pairs well with a Lake Bunyonyi decompression after.

Rushaga

The largest number of habituated families and the only sector offering the four-hour habituation experience. Steeper trails; the most rewarding for photographers.

Nkuringo

The most strenuous, the most scenic, and our quietest recommendation. Clouds Lodge sits on the ridge above the trailhead.

Mgahinga

A single family in a volcanic chain. Cinematic, intimate, and occasionally interrupted when the family crosses into Rwanda. We pair, never lead, with Mgahinga.
