Honeymoon Journeys

Two weeks, for the two of you.

Honeymoons composed around the wedding you have just left and the marriage you are walking into.

A Studio Note

The first two nights are the quietest.

We have learned, over years of doing this, that a honeymoon does not begin at the first lodge. It begins forty-eight hours after the wedding, when the noise has finally lifted. Every honeymoon we compose holds two unhurried nights at the start — by water, with nothing on the schedule — before the journey begins in earnest. The rest of the arc is built from there.

The Arc

Four chapters of a fortnight.

First

An arrival, slowly.

A private transfer from Entebbe to a lake-edge house on Victoria. One night of stillness — a long bath, a quieter dinner, an early sleep — before the journey begins. The wedding is left at the door.

Second

The forest, then the gorillas.

A morning flight south to Bwindi. Two nights at a forest lodge where the fire is lit before you arrive. One trek, shared — the photograph that will hang in the hallway for forty years.

Third

The plains, the two of you.

On to a private camp on the savannah — Kidepo or the Kazinga channel — where the suite has its own plunge pool, the guide knows when to disappear, and dinner is laid wherever you ask for it.

Last

Sand, or no sand.

A final week on Zanzibar's north coast, or a beach house on Lake Bunyonyi if you would rather stay quiet. We hold both, and decide together once we know the shape of the trip.

We will hold the lodges, the permits, and the two quietest nights at the start — and write the rest only after a long, unhurried conversation.
