How Much Does a Uganda Safari Cost?

The honest answer: it depends on how you want to travel, where you want to go and what you want the journey to feel like.

The IMAGINE Studio · 11 April 2026

Uganda rewards intention rather than expenditure, but a few costs are fixed and worth understanding. Gorilla trekking permits are set nationally. Habituation experiences cost considerably more and are limited in number. Internal flying shortens long drives and adds meaningfully to the total.

Beyond that, the variables are yours: how many nights, how private the guiding, how rare the access, how quietly luxurious the lodges. Our journeys are presented in three expressions — Curated, Signature and Extraordinary — so the same arc can be composed at different depths.

As a guide, a considered private journey begins around $4,900 per person for a shorter river-and-savannah arc, and rises through the gorilla and habituation journeys to our flagship end-to-end route.

Every journey investment includes private guiding, accommodation, internal transport, permits where applicable, your Journey Designer, pre-departure planning and 24/7 in-country assistance. What it never includes is a fixed shelf price — the figure follows the journey, not the other way round.
