The Pearl Collection

Uganda, at its most effortless.

For Whom

Composed for discerning travellers.

For travellers who want to experience Uganda not as a checklist of places, but as a sequence of landscapes, encounters and quiet moments. The Pearl is our most complete expression of Uganda, rainforest and Rift Valley, great apes and open savannah, ancient kingdoms and contemporary hospitality. It is flown where flying gives you back time, driven where the road becomes part of the story and shaped privately around the way you want to travel.

A Glimpse of the Itinerary

The arc of Pearl Collection

A sketch, never a script. Every journey is rewritten in private for the traveller it is for, then quietly shaped over a single conversation. What follows is the shape of one possible pearl collection arc.

  1. Day 1

The Pearl Begins at the Lake

    +

    Entebbe · Lake Victoria

Private arrival. Lakeside lunch or sundowner. Time to recover from the flight before Uganda properly begins.

  2. Day 2

    Into the Great Green

    +

    Kibale National Park

Travel west by private air or road, according to your preferred pace. By air, the forest arrives quickly; by road, Uganda unfolds gradually. Lake country, tea estates, crater landscapes and villages giving way to the great green canopy of Kibale. Arrive at your forest lodge and settle into the rhythm of the park.

  3. Day 3

In The Great Company Of Apes

    +

    Kibale National Park

Enter the forest at first light for chimpanzee tracking, accompanied by the park's trackers and your dedicated guide. Once the chimpanzees are located, the forest sets the pace. Return to your lodge for a slower afternoon or choose a private experience among the crater lakes, surrounding communities, birdlife or forest.

  4. Day 4

    Where The Earth Rises

    +

    Queen Elizabeth National Park

Leave the forest behind and continue towards Queen Elizabeth National Park, travelling by road or air depending on your preferred pace. The landscape changes almost imperceptibly, rainforest giving way to crater country, volcanic horizons, open savannah and the great lakes of western Uganda.

  5. Day 5

    The Southern Wilderness

    +

    Ishasha · Bwindi

Continue south through Queen Elizabeth into Ishasha, one of Uganda's quieter and more atmospheric wildlife landscapes. Search the open woodland and fig trees for its famous tree-climbing lions, with time for a leisurely game drive and bush lunch before continuing towards Bwindi.

  6. Day 6

    Into The Ancient Forest

    +

    Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today belongs to the forest. After an early breakfast and briefing, enter Bwindi with your trekking team and UWA trackers. The trek may take several hours; the forest determines the pace. When your gorilla family is found, you have precious time in their presence.

  7. Day 7

    A Day Between

    +

    Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Not every memorable day needs an itinerary. Sleep in and let the forest set the tempo. Walk a little further into the forest, meet a Batwa cultural custodian and hear stories carried through generations, or simply watch the landscape change around you.

  8. Day 8

    Savannah and Saddle

    +

    Lake Mburo National Park

Travel east towards Lake Mburo, watching the landscape change once again from misty forest to open grassland and acacia country. In the afternoon, exchange the safari vehicle for the saddle or walk, horseback among zebra, antelope and the open plains.

  9. Day 9

    The Road Home

    +

    Lake Mburo → Entebbe

Begin with a short morning game drive as you leave Lake Mburo. Then take the road north towards Entebbe, with time for photographs, spontaneous stops and the small moments that make a journey linger long after it ends.

  10. Day 10 – 14

    Extend The Pearl

    +

An extra chapter, composed around you

For those who have more time, Pearl can unfold beyond its nine-day arc. Ankole country and Igongo, the island mosaic of Lake Bunyonyi, Fort Portal and the Rwenzori foothills, or northwards to Murchison Falls, Semliki and Kidepo Valley, each a distinctly different final chapter.
