A sketch, never a script. Every journey is rewritten in private for the traveller it is for, then quietly shaped over a single conversation. What follows is the shape of one possible soul collection arc.

Day 1

Arrival and welcome

Your journey begins without a checklist. Arrive in Uganda and make your way to Kampala, settling into the rhythm of the city. This evening is deliberately intimate: a private welcome, a first taste of Ugandan cooking and an introduction to the stories that will accompany you north and east.

Kampala
Where a Kingdom Still Lives

Begin with Buganda not as history preserved behind glass, but as a living identity. Visit the Kasubi Royal Tombs with a cultural custodian before continuing through Mengo and the Lubiri. Later, step into the world of bark cloth with an artisan keeping an ancient craft alive.

Day 4
Kampala → Gulu
The Stories Change

Leave the capital behind and begin the journey north. As the landscape changes, so does the cultural story. Arrive in Gulu, the heart of Acholi country, and meet a local host who introduces you to the region through conversation, food and everyday life.

What Memory Carries

Spend the day with the people who keep Acholi traditions moving between generations. Storytellers and cultural practitioners, traditional instruments, music, dance and craft, and the resilience of communities that preserved their identity through extraordinary change. Then an Acholi meal, and the conversation continues.
Day 6
Gulu → Karamoja
Where the Earth Turns Red

Gulu → Karamoja
Travel east into Karamoja as the country opens out, red earth, mountains on the horizon and cattle moving across the plains. Arrive at your camp and let the pace of the region settle around you.
Day 7
Karamoja
A Different Rhythm of Life

Enter the world of the Karamojong through a community-led experience. Spend time in a Manyatta, learning about pastoral life, cattle, family, food, craft and the relationship between people and land. The emphasis is not on observing a culture from the outside, but on understanding the people who live within it.
Day 8
Karamoja → Morungole
Where the Mountains Hold Memory

Karamoja → Morungole
Travel deeper into one of Uganda's most remote cultural landscapes. Journey towards the Morungole Mountains and spend time with Ik community hosts, where culture and landscape are inseparable. The cultural climax of the journey, approached with curiosity, humility and respect.
Day 9
Karamoja → Teso
Another Uganda Reveals Itself

Begin the journey south and east. As Karamoja gives way to the landscapes of Teso, another cultural world emerges. Meet local hosts and discover Teso traditions through food, music, craft and conversation.
Day 10
Teso → Kaynella Farm
Let the Land Set the Pace

Teso → Kaynella Farm
Arrive at Kaynella and slow down. The farm becomes your exhale, discovering the land, meeting the people who care for it and experiencing farm life at a slower rhythm. Then gather around the bonfire for a farm supper beneath the evening sky. No performance. No timetable.
Day 11
Kaynella → Kampala → Ndere
The Many Voices of Uganda

Kaynella → Kampala → Ndere
A final slow breakfast at the farm before the journey back towards Kampala. Your final cultural encounter is at Ndere Cultural Centre, where Uganda's many cultural voices are brought together through music, dance and storytelling.
