A Glimpse of the Itinerary

The arc of Legacy Collection

A sketch, never a script. Every journey is rewritten in private for the traveller it is for, then quietly shaped over a single conversation. What follows is the shape of one possible legacy collection arc.

  1. Day 1

    Arrival and rest

    +

    Entebbe

Met privately on arrival and driven to a garden suite by the lake. A soft landing, a slow first supper, the first conversation about what this return is for.

  2. Day 2

    Buganda heritage orientation

    +

    Kampala

A private morning at the Kasubi Tombs with a kingdom custodian, an afternoon at the Kabaka's Palace and Bulange parliament, an evening with a kingdom historian who maps your lineage on paper. Context before the personal story begins.

  3. Day 3

    Journey home

    +

    Your ancestral region

A private transfer to the district your family is from. Arrival received by the local custodian, an introduction to elders, a first walk on the land.

  4. Day 4

    Hosted days, part one

    +

    Family land

A full day held by your hosts. Garden, kitchen, story, named relatives located, photographs and oral history recorded by our archivist.

  5. Day 5

    Hosted days, part two

    +

    Family land

A second day at your own pace. Optional visit to ancestral graves, time with the village elder, an evening meal cooked by the women of the household.

  6. Day 6

    Heritage ceremony

    +

    Family land

A naming, return, or remembrance ceremony, officiated with full ancestral protocol. Documented quietly by our team, witnessed by the community.

  7. Day 7

    Legacy and oral history day

    +

    Family land

A held day for the work of remembering. Recorded interviews with elders, scanned family photographs, clan narratives transcribed, a portrait sitting with relatives. The record kept, in your own hands.

  8. Day 8

    Kingdoms route, Bunyoro

    +

    Hoima

A transfer to Bunyoro Kitara, the cradle kingdom. Royal regalia, the king's drum, a private lunch with palace custodians, the origin story of Uganda's western kingdoms.

  9. Day 9

    Kingdoms route, Tooro

    +

    Fort Portal

Onward to Tooro, the branch kingdom that grew from Bunyoro. Private cultural engagements facilitated through our relationships with kingdom custodians and subject to ceremonial and royal schedules, then a long supper with the cultural office in the Rwenzori foothills.

  10. Day 10

    Legacy presentation and closing supper

    +

    Kampala

Return to the capital and a private presentation of your legacy dossier, family history, professional photographs, recorded interviews, ancestry notes, a personal reflection journal. A long table of new family and old, a recorded blessing read aloud, an evening departure or onward extension.
